At Brave & Courageous, we believe the little things ARE the big things! Here's why:

We proudly source everything—coconut wax, wicks, clean fragrance oils, jars, labels—from the USA!
Our candles are hand-poured in-house (literally in our dining room).
All candles are prepped, wicked, and poured in small batches to ensure quality.
We design and print our labels in-house.
Each candle bag and shipping box is hand-stamped with care.
Packaging and shipping are done directly from our home.

Proper care will ensure the longevity and safety of your candle:

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before EVERY burn. This is non-negotiable for optimal burning.
Burn your candle for one hour per inch of diameter (e.g., a 3-inch wide candle = 3 hours of burn time).
Avoid drafts like fans, open windows, or A/C vents that may cause an uneven burn.
If needed, carefully re-center the wick with a wick dipper or metal utensil after extinguishing.
Always keep candles away from curtains, papers, children, pets, and other flammable items.
Follow the instructions on the warning label on the bottom of every candle.

Our candles are made with your health and safety in mind:

Vegan Coconut Wax Blend with a trace amount of FDA food-grade paraffin for body and stability.
Our candles are soy-free, gluten-free, toxin-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free.
Premium Fragrance Oils, free of phthalates, cancer-causing ingredients, and other harmful chemicals.
Cotton core wicks, free from zinc and lead.
Reusable glass containers made from recycled materials, complete with metal lids.

PLEASE trim your wick before each burn! Here's why:

An untrimmed wick burns too hot, causing the candle to burn faster and inefficiently.
If the wick is too long or has a carbon buildup (a "mushroom top"), the heat can burn off the fragrance layers before they are released.
A dancing or tall flame is a sign your wick needs trimming. This leads to excess smoke and soot—negating the clean burn you expect from us.

Tunneling is when your candle burns unevenly, leaving wax along the edges of the container. Here's why it happens and how to fix it:

Cause: Not allowing the wax to melt to the edge of the container before extinguishing the flame or trimming the wick too short.
Fix: If your candle is already tunneled, no worries! Our soft coconut wax is easy to fix. Simply scoop out the unmelted wax with a spoon until you’ve created an even surface, trim the wick to 1/4 inch, and light it again.

We are a homeschooling, mama-run business, so we appreciate your patience and understanding:

We aim to ship orders within 1-2 business days, but most orders ship within 2-3 business days.
During our busy season (September - December), please allow 4-7 business days for processing prior to shipping.
Flat rate shipping of $9.99 via USPS. Tracking information will be emailed once your shipping label has been created.
Wrong address? Email us at hello@braveandcourageous.com as soon as possible! We will do our best to correct it before shipping, though it's not guaranteed. If the package has shipped to the wrong address, the customer will need to cover the additional shipping costs to resend the order.
Subscription Boxes: Address changes cannot be made. Please cancel and resubscribe with the updated information.
